Fulton J. Sheen: God’s Great Communicator

Author: Cheryl C.D. Hughes

Fulton J. Sheen was the most well-known Catholic Bishop in 20th century America. He was a media star on radio in its golden era, and then on television with his series Life is Worth Living. He was God’s great communicator, spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in such an attractive way that many people became believers because of him.

In this new Vision Book, readers will follow Fulton Sheen’s journey from an Illinois farm boy to a world-famous archbishop, known to politicians, popes, and Hollywood elites, as well as millions of ordinary people. The secret to his success was his love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, to whom he had consecrated himself, and his intimate relationship with Jesus, especially through his devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.

There were naturally ups and downs over his long life, but his great intelligence, warm personality, and infectious confidence in God carried him along through thick and thin. He continues to reach out to us through his books, recordings, and video presence on the internet— still leading souls to God.
