Above the head of Jesus is the INRI plaque. The Latin initialism "INRI" is meant to refer to the phrase "I?sus Nazar?nus, R?x I?dae?rum", which translates to "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews". According to John 19:20, this phrase was written in three different languages and hung on a plaque above the head of Jesus at his crucifixion.
